Squares and Parks

Savannah is known for its plush vegetation, which can be enjoyed in one of their 22 squares today. Locals and visitors can spend the day amid the greenery enjoying food and entertainment. They are the perfect spot for a midday picnic, a quiet location to enjoy a book or you may even find a wedding on the weekends. Most squares border stunning homes, churches and museums to explore.

Reynolds Square

Whether you are looking for fine dining, movies or musicals, Reynolds Square is amongst it all. This perfectly located square is bordered by The Olde Pink House Restaurant, with the SCAD Theatre and Leopold’s Ice Cream just a block away.

Forsyth Park

This 30-acre park is bordered on the north by Gaston Street, on the south by Park Avenue and has a one-mile perimeter popular among outdoor enthusiasts. The Forsyth Park Fountain was designed to resemble the grand fountain in Paris at the Place de la Concorde.

Chippewa Square

Life is Like a Box of Chocolates

Chippewa Square is one of the liveliest in the city, not only because of its central location, but for its long-time fame as the “Forrest Gump” square. It was laid out in 1815 and used to honor the men who fought at the Battle of Chippewa, which was a battle in the War of 1812.
