Bird-watching is an ever-growing pastime and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Hutchinson Island is where you’ll find a variety of birds, from the red-shouldered hawk to the eastern blue bird. Directly across the Savannah river from Hutchinson Island is the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, with wildlife-dependent recreational activities offered year-round including wildlife viewing, photography, hiking, bicycling and fishing.
